Ad Details

BLACK & WHITE: To keep printing affordable and fast, all ad images need to be high contrast black and white, no color. The printer used for this publication works best with line work illustrations, pointillism, crosshatch, and similar techniques - but still looks great with other design styles. (It’s a 3-toned greyscale, rather than a 5-toned.)

DEADLINES: You can send an ad image way ahead of time and let me know which dates it should run and I’ll list it in the designated issue. If ad space is maxed out for that edition, I will let you know ASAP. At the latest, I need ad images by the Wednesday before the issue you want it in.

DESIGN LITE: On The Record offers a basic ad design/formatting service. If you provide a clear idea of what you’re going for, I can draft a simple design. If you have a design already, I’ll format coloring/sizing and send you back a proof before publishing. Please allow at least a week for this.

If you’re looking for a more complex design: Misisipi Mike Wolf does some neat work. Let him know it’s for On The Record and he 'll know what kind of formatting is needed.

RUNNING MORE THAN ONE AD: Ad pricing is currently per edition, but you’re certainly welcome to run an ad in On The Record more than once!

Edition Dates & Ad Deadlines

Editions generally span 2 weeks, on a regular schedule of every other week.

Distribution is on each edition’s first Tuesday.

All editions and ads are printed in black-and-white/greyscale.

Please send/finalize black-and-white ad images by the Wednesday before the designated edition date. The earlier the better. If I know it’s on it’s in the works and know the size ahead of time, I need it by that Friday at the latest.

**Circled ad due dates are not the Wednesday before. The altered due dates are to allow more time for a better work-life balance through the holiday season.

**Rows in bold indicate 3-week editions, which allow for print shop non-operating/ holiday dates and a more sustainable On The Record pace through holiday seasons.
